I can't open the microsoft teams application even though i downloaded it from the official microsoft page and when I open the Setup Log I get a very long message that I don't understand. Can anyone help?

[Update]: It suddenly opened on its own and works just fine but please I'd like to know what happened if somebody can explain.
Can't seem to uninstall and reinstall the app. Win+R, then turning off AV and starting back up didn't work. deleting local app data or microsoft app data also didn't work, copying the file to C:/Users/user also didn't help

    Hello, Waqas!
Thank you again for the time you've put in helping me solve my problem with Microsoft Teams. As of now, the app started to function normally when I left it to load for almost 2h. I reopened it today and it didn't cause any issue. I do not know how it worked all of a sudden but am very grateful for it nonetheless.

I would also like to note that I was incapable of uninstalling Teams when I posted about my problem so that solution wouldn't have been possible. And also other applications of Office 365 worked perfectly fine when Microsoft Teams refused to.

I suspect this whole trouble came from updating my PC after years and maybe that messed the basic settings of the Teams application. If not, then I have no clue where my issue emerged from.

I thank you again for the effort you put in and I am very grateful that it finally worked after two days of trial and error.

    Best wishes,
    Mira.

    Hi,

Thanks for your valuable feedback and sharing updates with us and I really appreciate your effort and your precious time doing.

And I appreciate your kind words.

firstly, could you please confirm, if you install Office 365 Suite via go to www.Office.com and use your education credential, does the only Microsoft Team desktop client app not open? Confirm whether other applications also get the same problem? Such as PowerPoint or Word and etc.

Since you are using Windows OS, there are actually two different versions of the desktop app, so download and install the correct one. Please make sure that you are signing in to the Teams for work/school version on your device.

    Try:

    1. uninstall teams.
    2. install teams (see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=2187327&clcid=0x809).

    Choose correct "type" of install.

If above doesn't work from your side, then I think this issue might be raised by your local environment (Settings, Registry).

Given this situation, maybe the local settings had affected the application. Thus, we would like you to check whether the issue is related to your user profile. In this situation, we suggest you Create a new user account under your Windows(for test purpose). See if it still alerts you with the same error message. It is worth trying because it will help you narrow down whether the issue is caused by a specific corrupted user profile.

Meanwhile, could you please upload the screenshot of subscriptions page: https://portal.office.com/account/#subscriptions

Your understanding and patience will be highly appreciated. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Sincerely,

    Waqas Muhammad

    Dear Waqas,

Thank you for your input. I would like to clarify that I only want to open my Microsoft Teams app without any issue or long wait time. I thought uninstalling it and reinstalling it would work, but I couldn't even do that, and that's why I was asking about it. I was hoping I could get it fixed so I could open the app without trouble. Could you detect the problem from the issues I mentioned above?
Right now, when I double click the app, I get a loading screen and a green bar on the icon that takes a very long time to finish. When it does complete, it disappears completely like I didn't open the app at all.
Here's the example: ![Image](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/2c1bcb8d-d438-4b3f-b99c-b18c0fe65266?platform=QnAwhen this green loading bar reaches the end, the app closes again.
The old "Installation has failed" doesn't appear unless I closed then reopened the application. I would like to add again, that I have tried to enter "Run" (Windows+R) and delete useless data and it didn't help.
I hope my explanation wasn't confusing and thank you for your help.

    Best regards,
    Mira.

    Dear respected MiraDK,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I’m sorry you’re having a problem but based on your description we can work together to resolve it.

For the situation you encountered, we deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

As per your description you mentioned, "Can't seem to uninstall and reinstall the app." to avoid any incorrect information if possible, may I double confirm, now are you want to uninstall installed Microsoft Team app on your Windows OS? so that you can provide our suggestion in a productive manner.

Meanwhile, if you only/separate install Microsoft Team app(not alone with Office suite), you may go to your Windows control panel>programs>programs and feature and see if the Microsoft Team app listed there to uninstall?

Please understand that our initial reply may not always immediately resolve the issue. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

I'm sorry and I apologize for that.

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Waqas Muhammad
