Turn off Teams notifications at the Windows level.

Hi, I work remotely and have a second remote desktop open on my computer when working. Teams used to work fine until a recent update which has prevented managing notifications at the Windows level. Previously, since Teams does not allow you to manage notifications on a per-machine basis, I was able to put my local PC on Do Not Disturb mode to block all notifications to my local machine so I could pick them up on my remote machine.

Now however, you have blocked that functionality and I get duplicated notifications every single time. I am also unable to roll back any updates to the software since Teams blocks users from preventing automatic updates. Disabling users control over their own updates and notifications per-machine is an extremely poor design choice, which leaves me feeling even more sour over Microsoft than I already did. This MUST be changed back for the sanity of remote workers.

    Good day. After thorough research and consulting, it’s been concluded that the recent changes in Microsoft Teams notifications can impact your remote work setup. While the lack of per-machine notification management can be challenging.

    there are alternative workarounds you can explore to mitigate the issue of duplicated notifications and maintain a productive workflow. Here are some suggestions:

    1. Mute Notifications in Teams:
        - In the Microsoft Teams app, you can individually mute specific channels, teams, or conversations to reduce the number of notifications you receive.
        - Right-click on a channel or team name and select "Mute" to stop receiving notifications for that specific channel or team.
        - You can also mute individual chats by clicking on the three dots next to the chat and selecting "Mute."
    2. Adjust Notification Settings in Teams:
        - While Teams does not offer per-machine notification settings, you can customize notification preferences within the app.
        - Go to your profile picture at the top of the Teams app and select "Settings" > "Notifications."
        - Here, you can configure notification preferences such as banner style, sounds, and vibration.
    3. Use Focus Assist in Windows:
        - Windows 10 includes a feature called Focus Assist that allows you to control notifications based on your activities.
        - You can set Focus Assist to automatically turn on when you're using a specific app or in a particular mode, such as "Do Not Disturb."
        - To access Focus Assist settings, go to Settings > System > Focus Assist.
    4. Consider Third-Party Notification Management Tools:
        - Explore third-party applications that offer more granular control over notifications at the system level. These tools may provide the flexibility you need to customize notifications for different scenarios.
