I can't download files or open shared word documents and submit (assignment)... why?

I have a teams account with my school and I am a guest at another establishment to do my course. So far so good for doing my homework until I couldn't download/open my documents anymore. The problem goes away and comes back. I've tried everything: logging out, logging back in, uninstalling the app, reinstalling and trying the new app, checking my account, clear cache, check for updates, etc. I tried on my iPad and I can open my documents on it (but not download them because I don't know how to do it). Note that I cannot connect to the web version on my computer because I am already connected to another professional account... I have a lot of different courses. So I don't know what to do anymore. Thank you for your help.

*I think it might be the Administration that took care of my guest account that has a problem... because on my other account on the desktop version I've never had a problem yet... but I don't know.

    Hello,

My name is EngineTyme, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you and I would be glad to help you.

I understand that you cannot open or download a shared file in Teams on your school account.

Please confirm you have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Do you mean you have a two Teams account: One for school and one personal?
    2. Are you having the problem on your Teams account or your personal account?
    3. Can you open the file or download the file in Teams on the web by signing to your Teams account on another browser in private mode or incognito?
    4. Are you having the problem with all documents or some documents?
    5. Have you informed your school account administrator about this?
    6. Have you been able to download or open the files on your school account before?

I look forward to your response to be able to assist you further.

    Best regards, EngineTyme.

    1. I have an account for the school with my main establishment, but another establishment has added this same account in guest mode to do another course (so an account for the school and an invitation with the same account)
    2. On my Teams Account (I do not have a personal account)
    3. Yes I can.
    4. All documents (every other time, sometimes it works, sometimes not)
    5. I discussed my problem with my teacher because he was the one who added me as a guest, but I don't think he can do anything for me... I don't know who to contact to solve this problem because it's one account but I have two different schools.
    6. Yes, everything was fine until recently.

Thank you so much for trying to help me.

    Best regards,

    Anonymous123_137.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your response.

Kindly confirm if other student can open and download the files using their guest account?

There are a few reasons why you might be unable to download or open a file on a guest Teams account.

    1. Permission restrictions: Guest users in Teams have limited permissions, and they may not have the necessary permissions to download or open certain files. This is especially true for files that are stored in SharePoint or OneDrive for Business sites.
    2. File sharing settings: The file sharing settings for the team or channel may not allow guest users to download or open files. This setting can be controlled by the team or channel owner.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check the file sharing settings: Ask the team or channel owner to check the file sharing settings for the team or channel. They should make sure that guest users have the necessary permissions to download or open files.
    2. Contact your School's IT department: If you have tried all of the above steps and you are still unable to download or open files, you may need to contact your organization's IT department for further assistance.

Do feel free to write back for more information.

    Best regards, EngineTyme.
