How to stop teams from sending emails every time I recieve a message?

Our organization uses Teams for video conferencing and etc. Every time someone sends a message in Teams, I get an email. This fills up my mailbox and also makes it hard to find emails that are important.

Does anyone know how to stop teams from sending emails to me?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Ezra,

Thanks for your post on the community forum. I'm Nik, an independent advisor here to assist you with this.

As per the description, I understand that you want to stop the email notifications from Teams. If so, you could turn off email notifications by these steps:

Select profile pic icon > select Settings > Notifications > Email sectio, Turn off "Missed activity emails".

Now, manually restart the app by right-clicking the icon in your taskbar (Windows) and selecting Quit. Click the app icon to open it again.

Please let me know the outcome, and I'll further look into this.

Regards

Nik

I would also like to know!! There is no “email” specific option for turning off notifications. I don’t mind the app pop ups, as I need to know what’s going on. But I can’t have this many useless emails in my inbox.

    Thank you!!

I am interested in this answer too please. When my colleague schedules an online video call, I get an email every time. I do not need this notification for some teams as I am overseeing it but do not attend the meetings.

Hi, I would also like to turn off email notifications and tried your suggestion, however, the email settings shown in your image are not present on my MS Teams settings (see below). Is there a work around?
