How to correct meeting requests appearing twice in Outlook calendar?

Using Outlook 2021 with Exchange 2019 on premise.

The calendar of one of our users displays twice every event for which she receives an invitation. All events and meeting requests she creates are not impacted by this issue.

We have already tried multiple actions to solve this, without any success so far:

  • .ost file deleted
  • in Outlook Web access the invitations appear only once, same thing in Teams
  • Archive .pst removed from OneDrive
  • When the calendar is shared with another user, this user also sees the duplicate meetings

Does anyone have a hint to help us remove these duplicate items?

Note: I have already posted the question on general MS Q&A, and was advised to repost it here:

    Hi @Damien

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on the information you have provided, looks like the meetings got duplicated.

Since I don't have the exact environment like yours, I'm unable to reproduce the case but I will try my best to help.

Have you tried some common troubleshooting?

    • Windows + R then type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook\
    • Remove the following files: any .xml files, any .nst files.
    • Open RoamCache folder and delete all items.
    • Open the HubAppFileCache folder and delete all items.
    • Open the Offline Address Books folder and delete all items.

Please let me know if this works for you, if not, we can try another approach.

I look forward for your reply.
