Confusion re Microsoft Edge running on my iPad

I have standardised on running Edge across all my Windows, Apple and Linux devices.

Love it!

However Edge on the iPad looks different to Edge on the iPhone.

It does not have the ability to do a picture background and has the annoying big "+" button on the home screen to add sites to the home screen and does not seem to be a way to turn this off.

It's like it is a much older version running on the iPad but it is the latest version according to the App Store.

Is there a newer version coming up for the iPad that matches the look and feel of Edge on my other devices?

We can not know the update of Edge on Apple. Only one estimate for those on the pc, here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/mic...

But if you check the update history, there are often updates.

Currently the updated version on Apple is: Jun 6, 2021 Version 46.3.20

On Android it is: 46.04.4.5157

And on pc: 91.0.864.48
