Why does bing ads editor no longer allow me to paste a keyword object into a list of selected adgroups in the right side of the screen by right clicking on the selection of adgroups and selecting paste ?  It has been letting me do that until recently ?  It has reduced me to going into the campaigns one at a time on the left screen and will paste the keyword object into only one adgroup at a time.  I have to populate that keyword into adgroups in over 40 different campaigns, what used to be right click copy keyword then select a column of sorted adgroups and right click paste into that took only 10 seconds is now taking 10 to 20 minutes ???? Why,,, Why,, Whyyyyyy ???

Hi JeffreySimmons,

Thank you for reaching out to support!

I understand you are experiencing issues with copying keywords from one ad group to another. I can confirm that there were no recent updates to Bing Ads Editor. Below, you will find steps on how I was able to complete the action.

  1. Right-click and copy the keywords you wish to move, if you want multiple keywords selected at once, hold shift while copying.
  2. Right-click the campaign on the left side bar that you wish to move the keywords to and hit paste. If there are some ad-groups in that campaign that you don't want to move the keywords to, ctrl-click those ad-groups to un-select them.

If you are unable to complete the steps to copying your keywords over to another ad group, we may need to investigate the issue further. Please accept my private message in order to move forward.

I hope this information helps!

Sincerely,

Thanks for your reply, but what you are describing in your answer does not fit what I'm trying to do in my question.  Let me restate the main question with the key important exact words bolded that are important to describe what I'm trying to do.

Why does bing ads editor no longer allow me to paste a keyword object into a list of selected adgroups in the right side of the screen by right clicking on the selection of adgroups and selecting paste ?

It won't let me paste a just single keyword object (or single negative adgroup keyword objects either for that matter) to a list of adgroups on the right-side screen (or even to a single selected adgroup on the right-side screen for that matter).

It only lets me paste a keyword object that I have copied, into an adgroup under a listed campaign on the left-side of the ads editor, not the adgroups I sort and list and select on the right-side of the ads editor.  Again, why, whyy, whyyyy? LOL.  This means that when I want to populate a keyword object that I copied, to certain adgroups in 40 different campaigns by right clicking and pasting, that I have to do it all on the left-side by going into each of the many campaigns one at a time which takes 10 minutes instead of 10 seconds like it would take if I could highlight the campaigns I want on the left-side and select the list of sorted adgroups on the right-side and simply right click on the adroups list and say paste.

Basically adroups listed on the right-side section of the ads editor do not allow you paste keyword objects into them, the option to paste is greyed out.

I am using the default screen arrangement in the ads editor and have not customized what is on the left or right, it that helps make clear what I am looking at.

I have had to resort to using the "add keywords to multiple adgroups" function under the "data"/"keywords" menu, but that is kind of janky and akward and still time consuming and kind of dangerous to use if you don't know to first deselect all the campaigns before filtering for the adroup names you want to target.  Things would be much faster and better if the paste function for a keyword object was enabled on the right side of the ads editor and not just on the left-side.

    Hi JeffreySimmons,

After thoroughly following the described steps, I confirmed that the paste function is not available. I was unable to determine a way to make this option available again. I completely understand how this can be tedious. My only recommendation would be to attempt transferring the keywords on the left side bar, as I found this to be the easiest method.

If this is time consuming for you, I would love to offer my hand in transferring these keywords for you. Please accept my DM in order for me to be of assistance this way.

In the meantime, I think this addition to Bing Ads Editor would be very useful and I recommend pitching this idea on our Bing Ads Feature Suggestion Forum. Our engineers are always looking for innovative ways to improve our systems!

Please let me know if you have any other questions and thank you for choosing Bing Ads!

    Sincerely,

The solution you describe has always worked, but is the slowest solution to populate a keyword to many many adroups.  The much quicker, but still slow and janky, solution is to use the Data/Keyword/CopyToMultipleAdgroups function in the upper menu as described in my previous responce until Bing's programmers fix the paste function on the Right side of the screen to where it is no longer greyed out when you try to use it:

"I have had to resort to using the "add keywords to multiple adgroups" function under the "data"/"keywords" menu, but that is kind of janky and akward and still time consuming and kind of dangerous to use if you don't know to first deselect all the campaigns before filtering for the adroup names you want to target.  Things would be much faster and better if the paste function for a keyword object was enabled on the right side of the ads editor and not just on the left-side."
