I am receiving a ton of impressions for searches not related to my business.

Hello Stephanie- Your Cleaning Company,

Thank you for using our Microsoft Advertising Community Forum!

When using negative keywords in Phrase match, they will exclude any search that contains the specified word or term, whereas in Exact match, they will only exclude searches that match the keyword exactly. This means that if you set a negative keyword in Exact match, but the search query includes additional words, your ads may still appear, whereas with a Phrase match negative keyword, the ads would be excluded.

Given this, if searches containing the words "floor" or "supplies" are irrelevant to your business, it would be advisable to add them as Phrase match negative keywords. However, if a search query including those words could still lead to a potential customer, it might be better to use Exact match to avoid unnecessarily limiting your ad exposure.
