How to maintain multi-monitor background/display settings after undocking/redocking?

Running Windows 10.0.26100

I work on a laptop and have 2 additional monitors, so 3 displays total. I have the same background applied to displays 1 (the laptop) and 3, and a different background for display 2. Anytime I undock my laptop, it of course maintains the background setting for display 1. However, when I redock, all my displays are the same as display 1. Is there any way to "lock" these settings so display 2 will still have its unique background after redocking? This is a minor thing, but really irksome! I do have my settings set to "remember" window location when redocking and that is working fine - it's literally just the background that changes. Any help is appreciated!

    Dear Madline

Windows does not reliably remember per-monitor wallpapers after undocking/redocking — it's a known limitation, especially in builds like Windows 10.0.26100.

    Thanks you.
