Pedestrial Route with avoidAreas over only pathway problem

I am using the Azure Maps API to get Pedestrian routes and am having a problem with avoidAreas.

https://codepen.io/Badajoz95/pen/pvvpPGWhas an avoidArea which only includes a pathway.

https://codepen.io/Badajoz95/pen/RNNxgPW has an avoidArea which includes that pathway and the nearby road.

Same start and end. I've tried various sizes of avoidance and it seems related to whether the road is occluded.

Assistance would be highly appreciated please.

Hi Paul Day

I wanted to get more clarity on this case having checked both code pens.

The first shows route includes the avoid area while second one is showing alternate green route without avoid area.

So, our desired goal is not to plot the Red Route in which Red rectangle is drawn but only show the green route as shown in 2nd code pen. Right?

Yes, the green shows the API call with avoidAreas whereas the red does not. Apart from the change in avoidArea box shown in orange, the calls are the same. Your image is it working whereas the other one is not working as both lines overlap. You can see below that the avoid area is only the path.
