Azure SQL Query Performance Insight Query details are not loaded

Hi !

I am having an issue with loading the query details under query performance insight section.
After clicking on any of these.

The information is not displayed as it used to.

Does anyone have any tips or how to resolve this?

As I understand, you're facing an issue with Query Performance Insight not loading properly.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Ensure that the Query Store is properly configured and active on your database. Query Performance Insight relies on Query Store to capture and display data.

Verify that you have the necessary permissions to view the query details. You need at least Reader, Owner, Contributor, SQL DB Contributor, or SQL Server Contributor permissions.

If your database is scope locked with a read-only lock, this may also prevent the query details from loading.

Sometimes, browser-related issues can cause problems. Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser to see if the issue persists.

I have confirmed the query store is on by running the following query and the result of both columns returning '2'

SELECT

actual_state,

desired_state

FROM sys.database_query_store_options;

Verify that you have the necessary permissions to view the query details. You need at least Reader, Owner, Contributor, SQL DB Contributor, or SQL Server Contributor permissions.

I have subscription owner, and global administrator permission for tenant.

If your database is scope locked with a read-only lock, this may also prevent the query details from loading.

run the following and the column returned '0' so it's not locked
SELECT

name,

state_desc, -- ONLINE, RESTORING, RECOVERY_PENDING, etc.

is_read_only

FROM sys.databases

Sometimes, browser-related issues can cause problems. Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser to see if the issue persists.

Tried with a different browser, and both ended up with same results. I have also asked 2 other people as well, no changes.

We have been using this section quite regularly and this started to happen about a couple of weeks ago, not sure what is different. It would be superb if you could guide us to get this section working again.

We have received an update from the internal team that a bug was introduced in the latest deployment of one of the platform apps on the SQL side, which has disrupted the functionality of Query Performance Insights. Currently, there is no mitigation available, and the internal team is working on a fix.

The only available mitigation is to collect the necessary data directly from the query store on the database.
