Hi Shamsunder,
Apologies—I somehow missed your earlier message, even though I’ve been eagerly awaiting it!
Our company, Talk-Deck , is an online platform for creating unique interactive video presentations. We use it for both live and recorded content. A key component of our setup is a media server(s) provided by ANT Media which lists Azure as a preferred supplier.
Currently, we operate one bare-metal server with OVH:
- CPU: 2× Intel Xeon Silver 4214R (48 cores total)
- RAM: 96 GB ECC
- Storage: 2× 960 GB SSD NVMe (Soft RAID)
We split this into:
- Two Linux-based ANT Media Servers – Full-time now, but we could move to part-time/as-needed to save costs. In turn, we may reduce our license needs (currently two annual licenses).
- One Windows Server – For automated conversion of PowerPoint (PPTX to PNG). An essential part of the Talk-Deck platform. We’ve tried to on Linux/Open Office but the fonts didn’t look right.
- 3–4 WordPress sites, each on a sub-server (all our servers are Linux except for the one Windows server).
We know that we have much more computing power than we need and would like to right-size our setup in Azure, ideally with a more flexible, on-demand approach.
That said, I’m feeling a bit lost navigating the Azure ecosystem—lots of options, but no clear path. I’d greatly appreciate your help in designing the right configuration and approach for our needs.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards, Peter Norman
