Terraform apply error during CreateOrUpdate and my Public IP resource gets associated to unknown subscription

I understood that you are facing an issue with a Public IP resource that's somehow got associated with an unknown subscription and linked itself to a resource you didn't intend, like the appgwLoadBalancer.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Check the Provider Configuration: Make sure that the Terraform provider is properly configured for your intended subscription. If you're using multiple subscriptions or tenants, verify you're in the right context.

2.Identify the Resource: Use the Azure CLI to check the details of the Public IP resource. Run:

az network public-ip show --name <your-public-ip-name> --resource-group <your-resource-group>

This will help you see what subscription it's currently associated with.

3.Disassociating the Public IP: You can disassociate the Public IP from the appgwLoadBalancer by running:

 az network lb frontend-ip update --resource-group <your-resource-group> --lb-name <your-lb-name> --name <frontend-ip-name> --public-ip-address 

Replace the placeholders with your specific resource names. This command essentially removes the Public IP association from the Load Balancer.

4. Deleting the Resource: If you want to delete the Public IP, you can do so using:

  az network public-ip delete --resource-group <your-resource-group> --name <your-public-ip-name>

Make sure there's no delete lock on the resource, as that will prevent deletion.

5. Terraform State: If the resource appears incorrectly in your Terraform state, consider using:

 terraform state rm <address>

This command can help you remove the incorrect association from Terraform's state without deleting the actual resource in Azure.
