DLP Policy Tips

Hi All,

We are creating a DLP policy to monitor credit card information. We waited for almost 24 hours and it seems user notification are getting triggered if credit card info is shared. we enabled policy tips also but it is not providing any policy tip pop up. We got M365 E3 license, should i enable windows E3 as well in the license column.

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policy tips not appearing as expected.

Please Check the below steps and confirm us

Ensure that the DLP policy is correctly configured to show policy tips. Double-check the conditions and actions set in the policy.

Confirm that the policy is applied to the correct locations (e.g., Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive).

For DLP policy tips to work, you typically need the appropriate Microsoft 365 licenses. Since you have M365 E3, it should cover the necessary features for DLP. Windows E3 is not required for DLP policy tips in Microsoft 365.

Sometimes, it can take a bit of time for the policy to fully propagate. If it's been 24 hours and still not working, try reapplying the policy or creating a new one to see if that resolves the issue.

Ensure that user notifications are enabled in the policy settings. This is separate from policy tips and needs to be configured correctly.

Test the policy with different types of content to ensure its triggering as expected. Sometimes specific formats or contexts might not trigger the policy tip

Solution:

It turned out to be Outlook version, after updated to new. it worked fine.
