Hello

Please i need your help on this issue.

Autodetect cache is detecting wrong email provider.

After cutting over to Microsoft 365 from Google, Outlook desktop app fails to autodetect the correct mail service and resolves back to Google.

We've confirmed all proper DNS records have been updated, mail is flowing fine, and if we manually choose "Exchange" when setting it up it works fine.

Attached is a screenshot from your Autoresolver tool. https://adtoolbox.azurewebsites.net/autodetect

    Hi Rita Rita,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on my research, this issue could be caused if there is some cache related to google services.

    1. Please check if you still need other gmail services currently. You can turn off the Gmail services within the google admin side, then wait for some time and check if the issue persists.
    2. Check TTL for your DNS records and DNS zone, since the DNS entry change propagation can take anywhere between a minute to 72 hours or longer depending on your DNS registrar.

    For other workarounds:

    1. Try to setup your mailbox with the O365 default domain address: companyname.onmicrosoft.com
    2. Configure one of the following registry subkeys as follows, to avoid any Autodiscover cache:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office<x.0>\Outlook\Autodiscover

    DWORD: ExcludeLastKnownGoodUrl

    Value: 1

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office<x.0>\Outlook\Autodiscover

    DWORD: ExcludeLastKnownGoodUrl

    Value: 1

Here is an article about the similar google migration issue, hope you also could get some other information from it:
