Morning, You can use the Maintenance Schedules in the Monitoring Pane of the SCOM Console.

Select Create Maintenance Schedule from the Task Pane.

    Under Search for, select Object.

In the Filter by part of name, enter part of the name of the rule or Monitor, select Search.

In the results list, select the item(s) to be place in Maintenance, select Add when finished.

Continue with the remaining items until completed.

It is advised to test this setup before implementing it into Prod.

In the first screen, choose Select objects only.

    Then Select Add/Remove Objects.

Then in the next screen, Under Search for, scroll down until you find Windows Service. There are two of these, select the first one and then Select Search. It may take a few seconds if there are many services.

When the list is completed, you can scroll through and select the service(s) you want. Then Select Add.

When finished there, Select Ok, then continue creating the schedule.

    Hope this helps.

If I´m reading your question right you cant put a single monitor or rule in maintenance mode. You can just put the object that has the rule in maintenance mode.

For example, you can put a server in maintenance mode but you cant put the monitor high cpu in maintenance mode. Then you have to disable the monitor for that object temporarly instead.

    Morning,

    Try this please.

    Authoring-Management Pack Templates-Windows Service

Create a monitor for the application service that you want to place in Maintenance Mode.

When completed, go back to creating a maintenance mode schedule, selected objects only, add/remove objects, Search for Windows Service, Search.

Let me know how that goes.
