how do I to get Azure File Share Vault-Standard Backup to retain weekly and monthly backups for specified retention period

We have an Azure File Share Vault-Standard backup policy configured as shown. Snapshots and Daily backups are being retained for retention period set in the policy however there are no Weekly or Monthly backups being retained in the Vault. Backups have been running since January but the oldest backup job retained is 10 Mar.

Azure Business Continuity Center is also not showing any Protected Items??

The backup policy was created within the Azure File Share page, would recreating and configuring the backup policy from the Business Continuity Center make a difference?

Any ideas to steer me in the direction of a solution or explanation of why this is happening would be appreciated.

    Hi GavinBowringAdmin-1831

Please verify that your backup policy explicitly includes retention settings for weekly and monthly backups. These settings must be configured during policy creation or modification to define how long these backup points are retained.

If your current backup policy was created directly from the Azure File Share page, it may have limited configuration options. I recommend recreating or editing your policy from the Azure Business Continuity Center, where more advanced retention settings (including weekly, monthly, and yearly retention) are available.

If you're not seeing any Protected Items in the Business Continuity Center:

Verify your Azure File Share is correctly associated with the intended backup policy.

Check if the backup job has run successfully and created recovery points.

Review for any configuration issues that might prevent the system from recognizing existing backups.

Go through your existing backup policies and confirm they include the retention rules for weekly and monthly backups.
