When i type something and the list of suggestions come up, i want only return key to accept the selection microsoft made. I find it extremely frustrating when it blurt out some random text that has nothing to do with what i intended when i press other keys. So how do i stop it from auto completing when i press "."

In regards to blurt out some random text this can happen if GitHub Copilot is enabled.

If you want to stop autocomplete with "." in Visual Stuido 2022, you can go to Edit > IntelliSense > Switch between automatic and tab-only IntelliSense completion or shortcut: Ctrl+Alt+Space.
