I have been doing this for years with different versions of Visual Studio. This is for Visual Studio 2022.
As I have done for years, I have added it to the Taskbar to open specific solutions quickly. ADMIN mode is usually required for VS to function without issues. Usually, with properties and the troubleshoot compatibility tool, I can always get it to open in administrator mode.
Now it no longer works. I tried to repeat the steps that worked before. It seems there is a new compatibility troubleshooter. It doesn't allow you to work directly with an EXE. It has a list. Visual Studio 2019 is in the list. Visual Studio 2022 IS NOT!!!!!!!???????? It is an endless loop with no success.
How do I fix this?

Do you mean that you couldn't open a specific solution quickly even you have added Visual Studio 2022 to the Taskbar ?
If yes, please check the following steps:
1.Press the Windows logo to open Start menu and type keyword Visual Studio 2022.
2.Right click the Visual Studio 2022 icon and select Pin to taskbar.
3.Open the Settings App->Go to Personalization - Start.Please check if this setting turned on -Show recently opened items in Start, Jump Lists and File Explorer
Visual Studio 2019 is in the list. Visual Studio 2022 IS NOT
Do you mean Visual Studio 2022 is not showed in the search list? If yes, please check if Visual Studio 2022 shortcut exists in this folder => "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs"

As Jeffrey mentioned, I've also been doing this for years by going to devenv.exe location, right clicking and going to troubleshoot compatibility to permanently run as administrator. Recently after installing the latest VS 2022 version in Windows 11 there is no such option anymore to set to run as admin permanently. There is a new compatibility troubleshooter that takes you through set of steps to pick up a program to run the troubleshooter on but can't seem to figure out how to pick VS 2022 (doesn't show up in list of available programs).
Using Win10 22H2 with VS2022 17.13.6 Community with VS pinned to the taskbar. After clicking "Troubleshoot Compatibility" entry on the File Explorer context menu for devenv.exe I checked "The program requires additional permissions" choice in the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter and completed the rest of the process. Afterwards, the taskbar button for VS2022 always started it as Administrator (after giving UAC consent) for the IDE and for opening a solution from the recent items upon right clicking the button.
