Is there not a way to organize the sites we follow in SharePoint?

Are we able to organize (alphabetically or otherwise) the sites we are following in SP? I follow several similar sites, and it would be incredibly convenient to be able to quickly locate the one I need instead of spending time scrolling the random order they seem to populate in. I have tried unfollowing and refollowing sites in order and yet they are still an unorganized mess!

    Hi @Dallas Anderson,

Thanks for reaching out to us. We are very pleased to support you.

In SharePoint, unfortunately, there isn't a built-in feature that directly allows you to organize the sites you're following in a specific order (alphabetically or otherwise). By default, sites you follow are typically shown in a random or chronological order, and this order doesn't have a manual sorting option at this time.

We would like to make sincere apology for the inconvenience caused.

We are always looking for ways to improve SharePoint, and your feedback and suggestions are very valuable.

We suggest that you can make suggestions on this SharePoint Feedback portal for features such as sorting and categorizing the followed sites. With higher feedback like this, MS will take this into serious account and make some modifications accordingly, which will benefit more community members.

Your contribution will be highly appreciated.

Currently, here are a couple of workarounds that could help make things more organized:

    1. Group Sites by Categories: You can create a Quick Links web part to organize sites by category (e.g., Work, Teams, Projects). This can give you a better overview of what you're following and help you access them quickly.
    2. Utilize a SharePoint Hub Site: If you're following a lot of similar sites, creating a SharePoint hub site that consolidates these related sites can make it easier to find the right site. Hub sites can display associated sites, and they can be organized better for navigation.
    3. Use a browser extension or tool: There are browser extensions that allow you to bookmark your SharePoint sites in a custom order. This way, you can have them in your browser's bookmark bar, sorted as you prefer.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do feel free to contact me.

Another approach is to use Apps that show all sites you have access to. See example.

The Apps use search so it is security trimmed and only shows sites where you have read access.
