paralell port- how to set to do in windows 10 pro

Posts on some forums suggest that Microsoft has killed LPT (parallel port) support in Windows 10 whereas another post I saw indicates that Microsoft has fixed this problem due to pressure from businesses that still need parallel support.  I am such a business.  I must have LPT support for legacy software and an HP LaserJet 6P for the new computer I'm getting (which does have an LPT port).  This is not optional since the old software will not work with USB and new printers.  Can anyone definitively tell me whether LPT/Parallel ports are or are not currently usable in Windows 10 (64-bit)?  Thanks for any help.

    Hello Rasim Music,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Here are the key points with LPT (parallel port) support in Windows 10 (64-bit):

    1. Windows 10 does support LPT ports, but the level of support can vary depending on the specific hardware and drivers. For most printers, including your HP LaserJet 6P, you should be able to use the LPT port with the appropriate drivers.
    2. Some legacy devices that require direct hardware access to the LPT port may face issues. Windows 10 has tightened security, which can restrict direct access. Devices that use standard drivers to communicate with the LPT port should work fine.
    3. Ensure you have the latest drivers installed for your printer and any legacy software. You might need to check with the manufacturer for Windows 10 compatible drivers.
