Did Security Update for Windows Server 2022 KB5051979 Break Your Server Too?

I downloaded and pushed out patches per usual like I do every month. Upon returning to work the next morning, a user reported they could not print. After some basic troubleshooting, I came to realize that none of our printers were on our Print Server, where they are normally. Additionally, anytime I tried to Start the Print Spooler service, it would run for a few seconds and then Stop. It was very strange and the only thing that changed was rebooting the server after pushing out KB5051979. I was able to roll back to a previous snapshot prior to the update and all is fine now, but did this happen to anyone else? This happened morning of 2/19. Update was applied 2/18.

    Hello

According to the information you provided, it should be this patch that causes the problem. We recommend that you don't install this update for now and just wait for the March cumulative update to be installed.
