WebView2 installed in folder but doesn't show in add remove programs - can anyone explain why?

Hi folks,

Hoping someone can shed some light on this. :)

We have devices imaging from Intune. M365 Apps for Ent is installed as part of the Autopilot sequence in the ESP stage.

I can see, after the build completes, a folder with WebView2 runtime in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeWebView\Application\131.0.2903.51

However, the app is not showing in the Add-Remove Programs, nor is it in the Apps & Features view.

We do have "enable automatic installation of WebView2 Runtime" enabled in Device Configuration - Modern Apps Settings [config.office.com].

Anyone else seeing this? How would you would uninstall?

    It appears that WebView2 Runtime is listed as a System Component and no longer shows up with the install list. The relevant registry is as follows, change it to 0 to restore the display.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Microsoft EdgeWebView]

"SystemComponent"=dword:00000001

    @[Kat_21] Thanks for posting in our Q&A.

    For this issue, after installation, we’ll see an entry for Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime under Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. If we can't see it, it seems that WebView2 is not installed successfully.

    For how to uninstall WebView2, someone else has discussed this issue. Please refer to the following link:
