Hello,
This can happen due to changes in the security settings or hardware configuration. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:
- Reset Your PIN: Since clicking "Set up my PIN" takes you back to the lock screen, try resetting your PIN through the settings.
On the lock screen, click on "Sign-in options" and select "Password" to log in with your Microsoft account password.
Once logged in, go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
Under PIN (Windows Hello), click on Remove and then Add to set up a new PIN.
- Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your system is fully updated.
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Install any pending updates and restart your computer.
- Run the Windows Hello Troubleshooter: This can help identify and fix issues with Windows Hello.
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
Find and run the Windows Hello troubleshooter.
- Check Device Manager: Ensure that all drivers are properly installed and there are no issues with the hardware.
Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
Look for any devices with a yellow exclamation mark and update their drivers.
- Reset Windows Hello Biometrics: Sometimes, resetting the biometrics data can help.
Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
Run the following command to reset the biometrics data:
del /F /S /Q %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Biometrics
- Contact Dell Support: If the issue persists, it might be related to the motherboard replacement. Contact Dell support for further assistance, as they might need to reconfigure some settings or provide a firmware update.
Best Regards,
Yanhong
