Why does Onedrive change the emdeb URL from

"https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=" to "https://1drv.ms/v/c/" and "https://1drv.ms/v/s!" .

does this mean that Onedrive is not a safe place to store files long term ?. This change affecting all my files stored in Onedrive and inserted in the application. Now all my files inserted in my application do not work, do not open, I do not know what I have to do, my files weigh more than 8TB and it is not easy to migrate them to another platform. Please who knows how I can solve it or give advice on these?.

    Hi,

The change in OneDrive embed URLs is part of an effort to streamline and shorten the URLs for better usability and sharing. The new URLs are more concise, making them easier to manage and share, especially in contexts where space is limited, such as social media posts or text messages.

Additionally, these shorter URLs are designed to be more secure and less prone to errors when copied and pasted. They also help in maintaining a consistent and user-friendly experience across different platforms and devices.

It seems this is by design behavior, I'm guessing the reason for this is for some security reasons. I didn't find the relevant official article to provide information. If you have any feedback or suggestion about this behavior, you can try to give a feedback to Microsoft about your requirement:

Thank you for your response. I understand if the change to the embed URLs was made to improve services, but it would be much better if this update didn't impact the functionality of the old URLs. With the current change, all links that were previously embedded in applications or websites, including mine, have stopped working. I’ve invested over three years into setting up my project, which now contains more than 9,300 files and 9TB of data, and this change has unfortunately disrupted it.

Could you let me know if there’s any way to restore functionality to the old URLs? Or, if not, do I need to start over with a new setup?

Thank you again for your assistance.
