Hi Team,

Suddenly we observed that on windows server 2016 datacenter multiple pick an app process getting opened automatically and consuming more resources like memory.

When I checked the original file name it’s showing OpenWith.exe and unable to understand how fix this issue and not why multiple process are getting opened.

I would appreciate it if you could check and provide the fix for this issue the same issue we do have on other windows 2016 servers.

It’s getting escalated by customer and unbale locate and Microsoft documentation that can tell us to fix this issue.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

"Pick an app" process that associated with OpenWith.exe, allows user to choose program to open specific file types.

To further troubleshoot this issue, please kindly try below steps:

1.Restart the Server and see if issue persists.

2.Run a Malware Scan to check if there's any malware or viruses causing this issue.

3.Perform a clean boot to start Windows OS with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, hence we can know if any third-party applications are causing the issue.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best regards,

    Jill Zhou
