A drive image backup has been created that needs to be restored on a PC. A VHD drive was created and mounted on Windows 11 using Disk Management, and it is visible under "My PC".

However, the issue arises where the VHD drive becomes unmounted after rebooting and is no longer detected by the computer as the destination drive for recovery.

Is there a workaround for this issue?

    Hi,

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your VHD drive unmounting after a reboot. Here are the steps to ensure your VHD remains mounted:

    Enter the following command:

    "Mount-VHD -Path 'C:\path\to\your.vhd'"

Ensure the VHD is properly configured in Disk Management

If you encounter any issues, feel free to ask for further assistance.
