USB COM port issues

I am trying to connect my laptop to a fire alarm panel for work. The fire alarm panel uses a microusb port which is connecting to a usb port on my new laptop.

The software that is required uses the term Serial and then has a drop down box which shows avaliable COM ports. I was expecting the USB to be one of these COMports but it isn't.

The COMports that are avaliable seem to dissapear when I turn the bluetooth off, so currently just seem to be bluetooth connections.

How do I get the devices that are attached to a USB port on the laptop as one of the COMport options on these software packages in order to communicate with the panels?

    Hello,

If this issue is caused by the operating system. You can try to set up the environment on a new laptop and see if it works. Then we can consider resetting the laptop to reset some settings to fix it.

If not, we need to check the machine and software to see if there is a setting we missed here.

    Best regards
