Cannot install Mendeley Cite add-in on Word 2016

I have been trying to add the Mendeley Cite add-in to my Word (2016) for some time now.

Initially, I tried to add it via the "insert>store" option in Word but the add-in wasn't showing when searching for it. I then tried adding it through the online version of the Store, which partially worked. I tried to install the add-in but kept getting an error message "We can't load this add-in because we couldn't connect to the catalog".

I am currently on Windows 10. My IT department has checked and ensured that there are no restrictions or limitations on my Office 2016.

    Hi,

    Have you ever enabled a firewall or anti-virus software?

    Did you check if other add-in from Office store can install and work?

    Please launch your browser and make sure you can access the Mendeley Cite page.

    Then go to File- Options- Trust Center- Trust Center Settings...- Trusted Add-in Catalogs, and confirm if you have set any options:
