Azure Site Recovery Deployment Planner

I am trying to run Azure Site Recovery Deployment Planner to profile data to plan costing. But we are getting errors in the logs.

These CSV files and XML files do not appear to be created in the ProfileData folder.

So any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Matthew
    It looks like there are several issues in the log related to data collection "Unable to Query host" " No Counters found" "CSV and XML files not found"

    1. Ensure that the server is reachable from the deployment planner's host and that it has sufficient privileges to collect the necessary data.
    2. Check for any services or firewall rules that might block access to performance data (maybe antivirus)
    3. Ensure that the C:\Temp\ProfileData\ directory exists on the host running the planner, and verify that there are no permission issues preventing the creation or access of CSV or XML files.

    the error "no Counters found" This indicates that performance counters on the target server are either unavailable or not being collected correctly. This may occur if performance monitoring is disabled or if the required counters for data collection (such as CPU, memory, disk, and network usage) are missing.

    Hi Jackson,

    I found the issue. There was an issue with the Performance Monitor Database.

    When running perfmon I was getting errors

    Unable to add these counters:
    \Memory\Available MBytes
    \Memory\% Committed Bytes In Use
    \Memory\Cache Faults/sec
    \Memory\Cache Faults/sec
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\%Idle Time
    \PhysicalDisk(*)\Avg. 
    Disk Queue Length
    \Network Interface(*)\Bytes Total/sec"
    

    By running LODCTR /r (I had to run this twice) to repair.

    I am now running the Azure Site Recovery Deployment Planner without issues and it's creating the files and gathering the data.

    Your comment on "performance monitoring" helped me locate the issue :)
