    You can download Windows XP and many other OS versions from a paid MSDN subscription / portal; do you have one?

    Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community forum.

    Microsoft has discontinued official support for Windows XP, it is not possible to download Windows XP image files directly from Microsoft official channels. It is recommended that you download a supported Windows 10/11 Disk image (ISO).

    Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

    Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)

    Once the Windows Disk image (ISO) is downloaded, you can install the system by installing the VMware application and taking the following steps:

    • Open VMware and choose Create New VM.
    • Select the "Custom (Advanced)" option and click "Next."
    • Select Installer CD Image File (ISO), then browse and select the .ISO file you downloaded.
