Trying to publish my iOS application is giving me the following error no matter what I do, and I have already burned DAYS trying to resolve it.

I can build the project fine, it runs in the simulator no issues. and I have previously built a testflight release successfully.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

You are using VS on your Windows machine and pair to mac, right?

Please try to clean the bin/obj folder and try deleting the XMA cache folder to force Visual Studio to re-upload them, follow the steps on Connection Troubleshooting for a Xamarin.iOS Build Host - Xamarin | Microsoft Learn

Also, I noticed that the MAUI version is .net7, please update to .NET8 to see if the issue still exists. (.net7 support has been ended)

Yes. Using VS2022 on Windows 11 paired with MacOS Sonoma and XCode 15.4.

My Windows machine has .NET 8 installed, and my project is targeting net8.0 and net8.0-ios

The mac is using the build components that Visual Studio installs when you pair to the mac, which while I was rebuilding the XMA cache had a lot of version 7.0.x values floating past. I reinstalled the entire toolchain on the mac and attached the logs.

From the log file you provided, I can see the pairing is success. And I didn't find the MessagingRemoteException.

Do you meet the MessagingRemoteException on step 7 in the Archive Manager according to this doc - Publish a .NET MAUI iOS app for App Store distribution - .NET MAUI | Microsoft Learn?

As I understand, you have gotten a .ipa file and uploaded it to TestFlight, and then you want to publish this ipa to AppStore, right? If so, you could go to AppStoreConnect, select your App, then select the Build for review.

I have created the unsigned archive, but when I try to create the signed version for distribution (Ad-Hoc, TestFlight, etc) is when the process fails. I cannot create a signed version at all.

I cannot create a signed version at all. Could you follow the doc - Publish a .NET MAUI iOS app for App Store distribution - .NET MAUI | Microsoft Learn and tell me on which steps you meet the error?

To create the archive:

Set start-up project to my apps iOS project.

Set to Release build

Set to iPhone

Right-Click iOS project, choose "Archive"

VS automatically creates the App archive for the current build successfully.

Where things go wrong from this point is:

Click "Distribute"

Choose either "Ad Hoc" or "App Store"

Select Signing identity and Provisioning Profile

Click "Save As"

Click "Save" to choose default location

Wait..

There are two directions you can check. First, please connect your physical device with your Mac, and select this device as the remote device, and then you could try to archive again.

the second, you could try to open Xcode, go to Xcode->Window->Organizer->select the app->Archives, then check if you can distribute the app or export an ipa file.

For further investigation, could you provide the following information?

What's the detailed VS version? Do you update to the latest version?

Please try to remove the bin/obj folder and re-open VS to see if the issue still exists.
