I have recently upgraded SCCM server OS from 2016 to 2022. Also updated the SCCM version to 2403. Now i have an issue with MP failing to install. All the other componets are green execept for the management point. I have tried alot of options including to completely uninstall the Client from the server, remove the MP role , restart and install the role again and it still fails. I tried installing the MP role on a new site server but i get the same error. Has anyone succesfully solved this? i saw posts but nothing worked. this is the error i get.

Site Component Manager failed to install this component, because the Microsoft Installer File for this component (bgbisapi.msi) could not install.

Refer to the BgbSetup.log, the bgbisapimsi.log, as well as the ConfigMgr Documentation and the Microsoft Knowledge Base for further information.

Site Component Manager failed to install this component on this site system.

Solution: Review the previous status messages to determine the exact reason for the failure. Site Component Manager will automatically retry the installation in 60 minutes. To force Site Component Manager to immediately retry the installation, stop and restart Site Component Manager using the Configuration Manager Service Manager.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

    1,You can try below steps:

Uninstall the Client from the server, and uninstall MP

Uninstall IIS , BITS and Remote differential Compression

    restart the server

Install IIS (Caution: Install all required components of IIS for SCCM, don not proceed with default options).

    Install MP again from sites

    restart SCCM console
