Hello,

I have a VMware environment deployed with ASR, 23 VMs.

They all replicate correctly to Azure but I have one, the file server, that has the following errors when replicating:

First of all, I have already tried manually reinstalling the agent and re-registering it several times, but the problem persists.

I have also checked the disks, there is no ISCSI disk, what is the problem?

Error Id.

310156

Error message

The count of attached disks for the virtual machine could not get reported correctly by Site Recovery services.

Possible causes

The error could be due to below reasons -

	1. ISCSI disks might be present, which is not supported using VMware discovery, please replicate them as physical servers.

	2. A disk was recently attached to the already protected VM and Site Recovery service is synchronizing the information of this disk.

Recommendation

	1. Ensure that machine disk configuration is supported by Azure Site Recovery.

	2. If disk(s) have been attached to the VM recently, then wait some time for Site Recovery services to detect them before retrying the operation.

@Alejandro Hernández Gil Thank you for reaching out to us!

The error message you are seeing indicates that the count of attached disks for the virtual machine could not be reported correctly by Site Recovery services. This could be due to the presence of ISCSI disks or a recently attached disk.

    Please follow the suggestions below:

    1. Make sure that the disk configuration of the file server VM is supported by Azure Site Recovery. Refer to the support matrix link - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/vmware-physical-azure-support-matrix

    User's image

    1. If a disk was recently attached to the virtual machine, wait some time for Site Recovery services to detect the disk before retrying the operation.
    2. Make sure that the ASR configuration is correctly set up for the file server VM. Verify that the replication policy and settings are correctly applied to the VM and that there are no misconfigurations.
    3. Check the status of the virtual machine and ensure that it is running correctly. If the virtual machine is not running, Site Recovery services may not be able to detect the attached disks.
    4. Verify that the VM has the necessary network access to communicate with the ASR services. Any network/connectivity may impact replication process.
    5. Lastly, if none of these step's work, then try to disable and re-enable replication.

If the issue persists, you may want to contact Microsoft Azure technical support for further assistance. Here is the link - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-portal/supportability/how-to-create-azure-support-request to create support case.

    Hope this helps!
