video not playing in edge on android device

using html, <video> will play in edge on android device if the app is in popup window, but video will not play if in a regular window. Am using the latest version of Edge for android and the cache has been cleared. The user has also tapped the screen to initiate user interaction.

Could you please provide a minimal code example for us to reproduce this issue? We can't reproduce this issue on Edge Android 127.0.2651.111. Please also make sure you have upgraded to the latest version.

Here is my code, which works in chrome and firefox on android device:

Thanks for your code. I have tried to reproduce this issue with the code, but the video can still be normally played if I press the "play" button (the user interaction), though it is not auto-played.

But we do have some other video-related reports in Edge Android recently. I suggest you send feedback in Microsoft Edge to let Dev Team have a check. Thanks for your understanding.

I would very much appreciate you trying one more brief test. This test is on my development site and none of our customers with an android device using Microsoft Edge can play the video:

(Details omitted due to privacy concerns)

press the login button, then choose "view my courses" and finally select the course titled "Back Safety in Construction Environments - Interactive full length". The course will start, choose "restart" to play the course from the beginning and press the next arrow (-->) to advance the course. After a few segments, you will get to the 1st video and you will see that the screen stays black and the video doesn't play.

I've been debugging using Edge's DevTools but can't see why the video isn't starting to play.

Thanks for the steps. I have tested the website and actually reproduced this issue. This reminds me of a recent issue that video can't be played due to blob source URL. They have the same behavior and DevTools have no error message at all. As a matter of fact, I suggest you send feedback in Microsoft Edge and let Dev Team have a check. Hopefully they can figure out the cause with your help.
