Azure Site recovery - Installation failed at Registering with Site Recovery

While installing the ASR Unified Setup on Configuration Server, the installation is failing at the "registering with Site recovery" step. Please refer to the attached screenshots.

Exact error message:
Process error: MTRegistration:: registerMT encountered exception [at i:\src\release\inmage-azure-siterecovery\host\cdplibs\win\registermtmajor.cpp:MTRegistration::importMTRegistryHive:204] registry import failed with error: access is denied.

@UK-3097 Am assuming this is a VMware to Azure scenario. Try the following:

Log in Configuration Server. Backup the file drscout.conf and rename to drscount.conf.bak

E:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Azure Site Recovery\agent\Application Data\etc\drscout.conf

Insert a row with ‘Role=MasterTarget’ following DpCacheVolumeHandle=1 in drscout.conf and save it.

Grant the account to create the symbolink.

Configured the hostname.

The Configuration Server unified setup install and register to the vault.

I could manage Step 1 just fine. But don't follow Step 2 and 3.

I have local administrator rights. Do I still have anything to for Step 2.

And where exactly do I configure the hostname?

Thanks! I sorted it in the end. Our EDR solution (SentinelOne) was the problem. I disabled it and ran the registration successfully, and enabled it again. It appears the bulk reg key load was flagged as suspect.

Yes. The resolution for the issue is to disable the SentinelOne and then re-do the registration. Good to see that you figured it out quickly.

We are also facing the similar issue in our environment, How to fix it ? does Microsoft have any recommended steps. As we dont have sentinelOne agent to disable.we have agents like Qualys, Snare... disabling those agents will help ? Please advise. Since we are migrating physical machine to Azure.
