I am working on integrating Postgres DB with ADX - I want to use the external table plugin. I see that currently the only authentication method supported is Username and Password. Is there planned adding EntraID support for the PostgreSQL plugin ? Thanks in advance for the answers!

@JAGODZINSKI Tomasz Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform. Unfortunately, Azure Data Explorer doesn’t support Entra ID support or Managed identity for accessing PostgreSQL database. According to the official documentation: Supported authentication methods by database type The following table shows the supported authentication methods for each type of database acting as the source for the external table. Appreciate if you could share the feedback on our feedback channel . Which would be open for the user community to upvote & comment on. This allows our product teams to effectively prioritize your request against our existing feature backlog and gives insight into the potential impact of implementing the suggested feature. Hello,

Thank you for you answer. Is there a known timeline for implementing Entra ID integration for this plugin?

Is it somewhere on the roadmap already?

It's important to know, as in my team accessing Postgres from ADX would make things way easier, but we can only use Entra ID as the authentication method.

Therefore, I would like to know, if it's coming any time soon, or it's not yet 'on the radar' ?

Currently, this feature to support Entra ID support or Managed identity for accessing PostgreSQL database is not yet on the feature list.

Note: More number of upvotes are the feature items which will be converted to the feature list and product team will start on the implementation.

Based on the number of feedback and up votes from the feedback channel, our product teams to effectively prioritize your request against our existing feature backlog and gives insight into the potential impact of implementing the suggested feature.
