Hi , I'm planning to use Azure Blob Storage to host the .mp4 videos and to be played in desktop browser with the daily active external users (managed through LDAP) of 1 500- 2000 per day. I'm just wondering if Azure Blob Storage can handle this request and how scalable it is. or use Azure Media Services however is came to know it is retiring what is alternative?

From blob storage perspective, there are certain scalability limits regarding ingress/egress/iops etc. So, if the calls are happening within that limit, it shall suffice. Additional query , user that would be accessing the Azure blob videos are external user maintained in LDAP . does Azure blob store support external access .

Hi Ravindra Ramashankar Maurya -Storage provides multiple option to authorize the data options such as Access Keys, SAS, Azure AD (recommended one) as discussed in the below link:

Access Keys provide superlative access and user can perform any kind of operation on the account.

With SAS, you can control the permissions and auth time to some extent further.

With Azure AD, this is the recommended option if the user exists. If not, then you might to explore the SAS option and can leverage Access Policy to control that as well.

You can also check for exploring network level restriction and allowing access via few IP/Ranges if required.
