Question

Hi, I have BTS 2k16 along with VS 2k19, I craeted a project with an xml schema, when I try to generate an instance, I get

E:\Projects\Repos.......\Bts.CarSample.Schemas\Car.xsd: error BEC2004: The following Schema file E:\Projects\Repos....\Car.xsd, is not included in the Build. Set its Build Action to Compile to be able to perform any action like Validate-Schema/Validate-Instance/Generate-Instance.

Component invocation succeeded.

When I check BuildAction, it is set to BtsCompile

So what is missing or is there any config to do to be able to generate an xml instance? Thanks

Answer

For BizTalk 2016 you should be using Visual Studio 2015 as per Hardware and Software Requirements for BizTalk Server 2016
It isn't supported for a higher version of Visual Studio.
