After performing Windows patching, we are seeing the following error: "Clustered role 'sqlag' has exceeded its failover threshold. It has exhausted the configured number of failover attempts within the failover period of time allotted to it and will be left in a failed state." We have exceeded the threshold values, yet the same error persists. We have not found any additional errors except for Event ID 1254: "Clustered role 'SQL Server (XXXXXX)' has exceeded its failover threshold. It has exhausted the configured number of failover attempts within the failover period of time allotted to it and will be left in a failed state."

    Hi @Vanitha Dodla (MINDTREE LIMITED),

Go to your Roles, click on AG and on the bottom, you have resources - click on it. Then open properties of other resource - Your AG and go to Policies and play with those values. User's image

change the Maximum failures in a specified period to a larger number.

For more information, you can check SQL Server error log and the cluster log to identify what happened. Regards,

    Zoe Hui
