Ssrs server changes nls language randomly.

Hi,

I have a very stramge issue every now and then the server decides to change the languade settings for my oracle datasource. Nothing happens on the oracle database. The issue happens and my datasource that notmally works fine swaps to Czech or Brasil or French. The report than errors on specific date or day sql statements and we can fix this by shutting down services and restarting the service. Or changing the connect sting to direct connection not tns_names.

issue always happens after a recycle of the server cache. Setting from the reportserver.config.

Anybody have any idea.

opd.net does not allow you to default the language so i have no idea where to set a static language for the report server.

My main issue is the sql report server changes the nls language it speaks with the oracle database. So the oracle data is not returning for any view or table that is based on nls language other than american.

i tested the issue we have the problem at random after restart of services or recycle of the cache.

my server first talks american but as i have world wife users it decides to soeak english or czech or portugees with the oracle database.

made a simple report to select the nls language used at the moment and i see when the connection has the issue the data connection is no longer talking American. I can than restart the services? Or go into the connection string and entet the direct criteria for the connection or use tns-names.

after this entry the server re-validates the connection and the nls language goes back to American. As you can imagine very annoying issue as it just happens randomly.

According to official documentation:

The Language property on a paginated report or a text box contains the locale setting, which determines the default formats for displaying report data that differ by language and region. If no value is specified for Language, Reporting Services uses the locale of the operating system on the report server for published reports or of the report authoring computer for report preview.

You can also try changing your browser's language settings or your computer's regional settings.
