Is the "Power surge on the USB port" event logged somewhere?
Can I check if this kind of event happened in the last few days?

We have some devices connected to the PC for tests, it seems some of them are not behaving correctly and I've seen this kind of "Power surge on the USB port" popup at least once. Is there a way to check occurrences of such an event? Is it logged?

Regards!

    Hello

The “Power surge on the USB port” error typically occurs when a USB device tries to draw more power than the USB port can supply. This event is usually not logged in the Windows Event Viewer or any other system logs. However, you can troubleshoot this issue using several methods:

Hardware & USB Troubleshooters: Run the Hardware Troubleshooter which might fix the issue automatically. You can also run the USB Troubleshooter.

Reinstall, Uninstall or Rollback the USB drivers: If you just updated any driver, and the issue started after that you need to rollback the driver. If you did not, then maybe updating this device driver to its latest version will help.

Use a USB HUB: If the error occurs with a specific device, then it is possible that the device is requiring more voltage. Try using the same device in another computer, and if you receive the same error, then it’s best to use a USB HUB which comes with its power source.

Run OEM Diagnostics: If you are using a branded desktop or laptop, OEM must have included a software. Run this software for diagnosis and use the suggestion to resolve the issue.

Remember, it’s always a good idea to disconnect all USB peripheral items, then click the Reset button on the screen using the system touchpad and touchpad buttons. Once reset, it is recommended that you reboot the system then reconnect the USB device and see if the error re-occurs.

If this issue continues to occur with a specific device, it is possible that the device is requiring more voltage or power than is available from the USB port being used. In this case a USB Hub with its own dedicated power source is suggested. Connect the Powered USB hub to the system USB port and then connect the device to the powered USB hub.
