Hi All,

For our infrastructure, we've implemented Intune endpoint. I am aware that the Intune portal can give us information about software that has been discovered in our environment. For every application, we also require metering data, . How can you go about doing that? Is it possible using the Graph connector or PowerBi? Any advice, please

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

Per my experience, Intune does not provide software metering. Instead, we can configure software metering in Configuration Manager (current branch). For more information, please refer to:

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

Per my experience, Intune does not provide software metering. So it's hard to achieve the goal by Intune itself.

    Best regards,

    Simon

This could also be done via Applocker Reporting and LogAnalytics-Query... so this might help you => https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/reduce-license-costs-application-inventory-usage-report-becker/

Software Metering in SCCM won't fit if you need to capture utilization for modern apps like Outlook New as executable file is changing in each version.
As per the documentation wildcards are not supported for the File Name in Metering rules - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/configmgr/apps/deploy-use/monitor-app-usage-with-software-metering#:~:text=Wildcard%20characters%20are%20not%20permitted%20in%20the%20file%20name
